    Common Curiosities

Whether you're new to our offerings or simply seeking more information, this guide is here to provide you with clear and concise answers. Explore the topics below to find the insights you need.

What types of weight loss medications do you offer? Meraki Health offers three primary options for eligible patients:
    • Zepbound® (tirzepatide) (weekly injection) – Manufactured by Eli Lilly and FDA-approved for chronic weight management.
    • Liraglutide (daily injection) – FDA-approved for chronic weight management and type 2 diabetes in certain patients.
    • Compounded Semaglutide (weekly injection) – Available through licensed compounding pharmacies when commercially manufactured options are unavailable.
    How do these medications work?

Liraglutide, semaglutide, and tirzepatide are GLP-1 receptor agonists (tirzepatide also acts on GIP receptors) that help regulate appetite, slow digestion, and improve blood sugar control. They work best when combined with a healthy diet and regular physical activity.

    How are these medications administered?

All three medications are injected subcutaneously (under the skin). Liraglutide is injected once daily, while semaglutide and tirzepatide are injected once weekly.

What are the possible side effects?

Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, or decreased appetite. Rare but serious risks may include pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, kidney problems, or allergic reactions. These medications are not recommended for individuals with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).

How is the Meraki Health weight management program structured?

    Our program includes:

    • At-home phlebotomy for required bloodwork
    • Lab review by a licensed provider
    • Telemedicine consultation to determine eligibility and prescribe the appropriate medication
    • Medication shipped directly from our licensed pharmacy partners
    • Ongoing follow-up for dosage adjustments, side effect management, and weight loss support

    Who is eligible for treatment?

Eligibility is based on BMI and health history. Typically, adults with a BMI ≥30, or ≥27 with weight-related conditions (such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or type 2 diabetes) may qualify. Final eligibility is determined after consultation and lab review.

How do I store the medication?

GLP-1/GIP medications should be refrigerated at 36–46°F (2–8°C) until use. Do not freeze. After first use, some products may be stored at room temperature for a limited time—follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

What should I do if I miss a dose?

If you miss a liraglutide dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it’s almost time for your next dose. For semaglutide or tirzepatide, take the missed dose within 4 days; if more than 4 days have passed, skip it and return to your regular schedule. Never double up doses.

How do I travel with my medication?

Use a travel-safe cooler pack to maintain the correct temperature. Keep your medication in your carry-on when flying, and have your prescription label available for airport security.

Where is my medication dispensed from?
    • Olympia Pharmacy – 6700 Conroy Road, Suite 155, Orlando, FL 32835. Licensed in multiple states. Medications dispensed only after prescription by a licensed provider.
    • Eli Lilly Direct – Manufacturer’s direct patient program for Zepbound®, distributing medication from licensed facilities in the United States. Dispensed only after prescription by a licensed provider.

    Calculate Your BMI

Depending on your BMI, you may be categorized as underweight, normal weight, overweight, or obese. This serves as a starting point for personalized health strategies tailored to your goals.
